This Could Be YOUR GROUP After a Successful Morning on the Water
Imagine a cool morning with gently rolling waves, as your Guide has lowered your gear into the water and you are leisurly trolling along, just off the rock bluffs. Your Guide passes you a nice steaming cup of java and you are breathless, while taking in the magnitude of your surroundings. All of a sudden your Guide yells "Fish On" and you are quickly and efficiently escorted to the rear of your craft. He tells you to pick up the rod, which has now has had its line detached from the Downrigger and your rod has taken on a life of its own. He tells you to set the hook and when you heave back on the rod, you actually feel as if you have hooked the rocky bottom. That thought only lasts a split second, as the rod actually comes alive in your hands and the reel is screaming as the line peels off at a phenomenal rate and there is no physical way to stop this run your salmon, yes "your salmon" is making. The Guide adjusts the drag on the reel and soon the salmon slows down and heads for the bottom to "sound". Now the 'grind' begins, how much line had it taken from your reel? Slowly, but surely you gain precious line back. The next thing you know, the reel is screaming once again, as your salmon heads for parts unknown. The runs get shorter and gaining back the line is starting to take its toll on your already weary arms.
The thought suddenly manifests in the recesses of your mind, "What did I sign up for here?" Well, another 10 - 15 minutes and the Guide has your salmon laying on the floor of the boat, still wrapped in the landing net. Now comes the rush of emotions - this is your salmon and you are so proud of your accomplishment of fighting this monster to a standstill and then getting it in the boat. Another great Fish Tale for the dinner table this evening and probably for every friend you will encounter over the next couple of months around your home - smile.
The description above can certainly be lived by you
